Blood Product Enhancements
The “Consent for Blood Products” screens in the consent program have been modified to make them easier to complete. The blood products screen now includes one question with three options. The practitioner will select “Yes” if the patient consents to the use of blood products, “No” if the patient refuses the use of blood products, or “N/A if the need for blood products is not associated with the treatment/procedure. (In many instances, the screen will not appear in “Basic” consent mode if the need for blood products is not associated with the treatment/procedure. The practitioner will retain the ability to edit the selection using the “Edit Options” control.)
The new blood products screen is illustrated below:
When “No” is selected, an additional screen will prompt the user to enter the reason for the patient’s refusal.
