Notes are the progress note templates that are stored in CPRS. Progress Notes are assigned to DAPS from which DAPS are assigned to Specialties/Categories/Documents. All progress notes generated from iMedConsent are administratively closed in CPRS and may or may not link to an image in VistA imaging. The most typically used Progress Notes in iMedConsent are the VA Informed Consent Progress Note and the VA Default Progress Note.

The VA Informed Consent Progress Note is assigned to all the DAPS that are associated with consent documents. The VA Informed Consent Progress Note is specifically designed for consents and is not to be edited. The VA Default Progress Note is assigned to the Default Non-Consent DAP that is associated with all non-consent documents. It in not recommended to modify the VA Default Progress Note.

This feature is used in the VA when creating a special purpose document that requires a special purpose progress note. The Progress Note is originally created from the File/New function.

Once in Image Editor Template, a dialog window pops up below that allows adminstrative users to get information about a note, edit, or create a copy of it.

Progress notes are assigned to DAPS from the General tab under Document Activity Profiles.
