Child documents are all the procedure consent documents in the library. Child document inherit properties from a parent template designed for the VA consent form. When a child document is open, the sections of the document are labeled on the left hand side (Alternatives, Anatomical Location, Anesthesia, Benefits, Blood Products, Diagnosis, Facility Specific Procedure Notes, Procedure, and Risks.

It is not recommended to remove any child documents from the standard library in iMedConsent. The only section that is editable for documents in the standard library is the Facility Specific Procedure Notes.

Once in Child documents, a dialog window pops up below that allows for documents to be searched, edited, or copied. The only section that is editable for documents in the standard library is the Facility Specific Procedure Notes. However, when a local copy of a child document is made, all section become editable.
